Too much information to process?
Too much food?
Too much on your schedule?
Too many stressful thoughts and worries?
Most of us can relate to at least one of the above. The need to simplify and declutter is increasing in this part of the world. With garage sales, second hand stores, and hand-me- downs...no matter income level, it's easy to accumulate stuff we don't need, use, or want.
With Internal Decluttering, I'm referring to the mental and emotional aspects of clutter, such as:

With Internal Decluttering, I'm referring to the mental and emotional aspects of clutter, such as:
• Unprocessed emotions. These include resentment, anger, hate of self and others,
un-forgiveness, excessive fear and worries, as well as grief and sadness that never seem to lift.
|
There's nothing wrong with feeling emotions, but when we get suffocated
by them or overly "attached" to them, they become like too much clutter in our space.
They get in the way of our health and happiness.
• Stressful "stories" that keep us and/or others feeling miserable. These can include repetitive thoughts around not being successful enough or stories about how others wronged us. They can be stories of misfortune from long ago that we, often unconsciously, keep alive by re-experiencing them. They clutter our minds and get in the way of us being fully present to this moment. |
• Dysfunctional beliefs and attitudes that get in the way of serenity and health. For
the longest time I struggled with believing and feeling that I was inferior to others,
and at times its opposite twin would come to visit. I named it "my" inferiority-superiority complex. Shortly after turning 50 I became aware of finally feeling like an
equal to others. My need for approval lessened as well, which was freeing. Many good
things can come with age when you remain open to growth and change.
Who would you be without your stressful story about_____ ?
What would you say? How would you act? How would you feel if you didn't tell yourself that stressful story about____ ?
Inner decluttering is giving ourselves a break from our "monkey mind." I love this two minute video that reminds me it is indeed very doable to give ourselves these mental pauses of putting our mind in neutral for a bit.
There are many ways to go about the internal decluttering process.
Simply deciding to and making it your intention will start moving you in the right direction.
Receiving regular BodyTalk sessions can be an effective way to speed up the process of releasing layers of emotional and psychological clutter.

Enjoy the fall colors and notice how willing the trees are about letting the leaves go, while getting ready for a new season😊.
